My Journal
Scarred and spiral bound; decorated with great purple mountains and a clouded sky; bearing a single word "Vision".
Within it, coded memories of a three week adventure half-way across the globe are enscribed.
It is difficult to relay in text the interior of this record-keeper, which is laced with numerous hand-drawn maps, notes to self, and unexplainable doodles. I hope this blog sufficiently retells my experiences there and conveys the missions of our project, but more importantly, the inspiration.

Wednesday.Oct.17.2007 (Day 5)
We were going to go and practice at the Youth to Youth center at 10:00am so Jacqueline was going to wake Erica and I up at around 8:00am. However because the time difference was so drastic and it got light really early we both ended up waking up about 2 hours early. At around 6:30 I came in to Erica’s room and asked what time it was because we thought that Jacqueline had forgotten to wake us up. We talked for a few minutes and told me to go look what time it was so I went to the front desk and asked. Erica was surprised at how early it was. I had already showered and gotten dressed, so went back to my room while Erica got ready. Then Jacqueline came by when she was supposed to and she was surprised to see that we were already awake and ready to go, but she wasn’t. After everyone was up and ready to go we practiced our speeches a little bit and then we left to go to Youth to Youth to practice for our performances the next day. When we got there Lunes showed us around some more and then we started practice. We attracted a little crowd and it was interesting. After we had practiced for a couple of hours some more Youth to Youth performers came and they all started singing us songs. They were practicing which songs they were going to perform during our presentation the next day. This went on for about an hour and a half and it was really fun, they all had pretty good singing voices. During this time it started pouring down rain, it was torrential, it was awesome. It was so loud that we could hardly hear each other talk. Erica and I really wanted to go outside and run in the rain but Jacqueline wouldn’t let us, so Erica went and took pictures of the little kids running in the rain, it was really cool. One of the guys with Youth to Youth tried asking about Alaska but it was so loud I couldn’t understand him. After it stopped raining we broke for lunch for about an hour. When we got back we practiced more, more, more, and more, it was LOADS of fun. Finally around 6:00pm we left to go home for dinner. We ate cheese pizza again, and it was still pretty good. Mr. Fielding and Jacqueline had moved into the hostel that morning so we now had a living room to practice in, which is exactly what we did. We practiced until about 10:30pm or so and then we went to bed. Erica and I are now sharing a room, to try to save us money all together.
