We woke up didn’t know where anyone was. I finished chapter of science. We left a note for Mr. Fielding and Jacq but then we saw Jacq and we told her that we wanted to go to coffee corner but she said talk to Mr. Fielding, who was in tourist trap. He said we had too much to do and there was a coffee shop down the street but we couldn’t find it. We ate breakfast at Flame Tree. Then we dropped stuff off at ministry of education for Julian. Then to went to Bikini and Rongelap town halls, met with James, who showed us photos and talked about development project. Set up lunch meeting for next day. Then Scott Stege, then nuclear claims tribunal but Bill was at lunch. Went to conservation place and handicraft shop. Then we went to lunch but there was no power so Jacq had a drink. Then we went to newspaper. Met Joe Murphy, interesting guy. Then to Bikini town hall, Jack was not there, then to see Bill Graham. He let us watch a draft of ‘the proving grounds’ and Glen Alcalay’s speech to nuclear club. Then set up meeting for next day. Alele museum was closed. Meeting with Youth to Youth and Julia Alfred. She offered to set up an Arno trip with Lunes. Then we walked to Monica’s and got food, yummy yummy. Then we had fried banana. Then home and talk with Jacq and Mr. Fielding for a bit. Then we went to sleep.
My Journal
Scarred and spiral bound; decorated with great purple mountains and a clouded sky; bearing a single word "Vision".
Within it, coded memories of a three week adventure half-way across the globe are enscribed.
It is difficult to relay in text the interior of this record-keeper, which is laced with numerous hand-drawn maps, notes to self, and unexplainable doodles. I hope this blog sufficiently retells my experiences there and conveys the missions of our project, but more importantly, the inspiration.
